About Lacy Buchanan
Who Is Lacy Buchanan?
The artist, Elizabeth deLacy Buchanan (Lacy), was born in Lexington, Kentucky, raised on Long Beach Island, New Jersey and returned to her roots in Kentucky to finish her undergraduate education at The University of Kentucky. There, she studied Spanish, Art History and Fine Arts. Sparked by the deep history of crafts in the Midwest, she apprenticed for several local potters in Kentucky and the Ohio Valley for several years during and after her undergraduate studies.

Lacy put her love of pottery on the back burner while she raised and supported her family, but now finds herself in a position to follow her passion once more. While she is still teaching Spanish at a local high school in Florida, she spends her free time making exquisite functional pottery. Four of her talented adult children, Amanda, Taylor, Ashley and Chris, are also beginning to join her in her studio.

Lacy’s designs are rooted in her love of the ocean and in the nature around her. Just as in nature, no two pieces are exactly alike. Lacy is passionate about making quality handmade functional pottery that she hopes will enhance your daily life. Unless otherwise marked, all of her pottery is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. Enjoy!
